The wedding industry right now just feels like its at a complete standstill… I am sure every industry feels like that right now, but because we aren’t in may other ventures, we can really only speak from the experiences we are currently facing.
Weddings being postponed, canceled. Plans changing literally day by day, sometimes hour by hour. Months, even years of planning and dreaming are seeming to be coming to a crashing halt as we all hold our breath and just hope and pray that this whole thing is over sooner rather than later.
But it has been really amazing to see people rallying together, knowing that we are part of a HUGE community that is ready to step in and do whatever we can to help continue to make sure our couples have amazing wedding days! Like this beautiful wedding that we got to be apart of last May.
Mel + Sunnie were married at the gorgeous Chateau De Fluer out in Eagle, ID. So many gorgeous and intricate things here making every brides details just pop. And Sunnie had so many amazing details, it was a dream to photograph them all. We started the day in the bridal suite, getting ready with all the girls. This was such a fun group, that room was filled wall to wall with family, nieces, cousins, and close friends. It was wild and fun, and such a treat getting to know everyone during that portion of the day.
We ended up having some timing issues due to some unforeseen last minute changes that needed to happen, but we are always there to help our couples along the way, ensuring that we can handle any scheduling issues that may come up. Mel + Sunnie had been on the fence about doing a first look, it was something they had gone back and forth on over the months of planning, so when it came to the wedding day, we opted to forgo the first look, and plan to break up the photos differently than we had planned. This was going to save us time so we didn’t have to rush through things, and be sure that everyone was ready to go when guests started arriving.
It worked out perfectly so that we were able to gather the groups together that we needed to for photos following the ceremony, and capture all we needed to without any feelings of stress.
One of my favorite things from their entire wedding day was their cake!! Have you ever seen more beautiful cake? I couldn’t believe how tall and gorgeous it was! Definitely a showstopper in that reception room!
We ventured out into the garden area behind the venue for some stunning sunset portraits. It was just one of those nights with the perfect golden light, and we were able to play around with the way it came soaking into our images. This reception sure was a party too! They danced the night away and had a packed floor pretty much the whole night!
It was an honor to be apart of this day for this adorable couple! We had so much fun with them, and loved everything about their wedding day! Happy almost 1 year anniversary you two 🙂
