Our Maui Trip | June 2017

Last year we were able to go to Maui in June for work/pleasure, and I am just barely getting around to sharing some of our personal side to that trip.

I’ll be honest, I am a terrible photo taker on vacations. I don’t know what it is, but I just am not a huge fan of lugging around my camera all the time, or even pulling out my phone and taking photos. But I am trying to be better so that we have some awesome memories from these adventures that we have been able to go on the last few years.

We arrived to Maui on Monday afternoon, and after getting our rental car from Turo, we decided to stop at a grocery store to grab some food. Since we stayed in an Airbnb it was super easy for us to just have some food and snacks to be able to whip up some quick meals if we wanted to. And having our toddler with us, we definitely needed a good amount of snacks to take with us! haha We watched the sunset that night, and then because of the time difference and being exhausted from traveling we turned in pretty early!

The time change really through us all for a loop, and most of us were up at 4 or 5am every morning! haha But because it was so warm there in the mornings, we would usually get up and head to the beach the second the sun rose, play for a few hours and have the entire place to ourselves pretty much. By the time we were worn out and ready for something else, we’d miss all the crowds! It was nice! haha

This was a quick trip for us. We ended up leaving on a red eye Thursday night, so we crammed in as much as we could in the few days that we were there. We did the Road to Hana, Walked around the shops in Lahaina, drove up to the top of Haleakala – not for the sunrise unfortunately, we didn’t realize you had to get tickets now for that so we missed out, but it was so cool nonetheless! My parents came with us to help with Carter and it was so much fun having them be apart of this special trip! We want to go back to Maui so bad and spend more time there, but it was truly an incredible trip that we are so glad we were able to enjoy!
